“Rohini Karthe” denotes the sojourn of Sun into Rohini Nakshatra. Karthe is a period of 13.5 days during which Sun transits through a particular Nakshatra. As the Earth revolves, the Sun also moves through each of the 27 nakshatras for an average time period of 13.5 days. These transits are important for farmers, and other activities associated with rain. Karthe assists in detecting the possibilities and nature of the rain or quality of air for a given period.

Rohini Nakshatra Attributes

Rohini is the fourth Nakshatra of the 27 constellations. It is a bright reddish constellation and when the Moon is between 40°00′ to 53°20′ Taurus, it is counted as Rohini Nakshatra. Astronomically it is Aldebaran star (Alpha-Tauri), ‘Star of Ascent’. Rohini in Sanskrit translates to ‘red one or the growing one’. All the padas fall in Taurus Moon sign. Taurus being ruled by Venus, and the Moon in Taurus provides an opportunity to express the great chemistry between planets moon and Venus. As a result of this, nakshatra is an epitome of incredible creative abilities. Attributes like Honesty, simplicity and being dutiful defines the Nakshatra.
