Calculation

Each sign is divided into 45 parts of 0 degrees 40’ each called Akshavedamsa. The whole zodiac system has about 540 Akshavedamsas.

D45 chart is created based on the nature of the sign a planet is placed in the natal chart,

  • For movable signs, Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn- count from Aries
  • for fixed signs, Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius- count from Leo
  • for dual signs, Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces- count from Sagittarius.

To locate the correct house to place the planet,

Check which Akshavedamsa the planet falls in. If it is between 13-24, subtract 12 from the number, and it will denote the sign where the planet will go. 21st Akshavedamsa -(21-12=9) count 9 houses from the sign.

If it’s between 25-36, subtract 24 and 37-45, subtract 36, and it will denote the sign where the planet should go. 30th Akshavedamsa = (30-24= 6) count 6 houses from the sign.

Purpose of the AkshaVedamsa Chart

Patrilineal Karma can be seen in this chart. Both material and physical aspects of these karmic patterns in a native, inherited through the father and his ancestors, are available in the D45 chart.

The morality, character, ethical and religious values of a native is studied in D45.

This chart represents the Superconscious mind of the native.

Interpretation

For example, the natal chart shows, Ascendant is at 3º7’, Mercury is at 2 º 50’ in
In the D45 chart, Ascendant is at fifth Akshavedamsa of Gemini, so Mercury will move fifth from Sagittarius, Aries. Moon is at first Akshavedamsa of Pisces, so the moon goes to Sagittarius.

Common Inferences on D45

Planet Sun is the Karaka-natural Significator of this chart. Sun denotes Paternal chords, the Self and soul of the native.

Ascendant, 3rd house, 6th house, and 9th house are analyzed. Beneficial association between the lords of these houses and the planets occupying them indicates paternal relationship and thinking patterns of the native. Most benefic exaltation denotes great paternal legacy, also progressive and positive thinking.

Suppose the above-said houses are aspected by malefic planets. In that case, the native tends to have negative and criminal thoughts, resulting in poverty or losses and health disorders inherited through paternal lineage.

For example, mercury in retrograde or when associated with enemy planet makes the native think in a regressive, cruel way and lose father’s love early in age.

4th and 5th house shows the mind, its superconscious layer, and past life experiences of the native.
